So, it's double station cash weekend. And the servers are down. Anyway, let's say I want to spend some money in the game. What do you think it's a must have item? A BTW, my opinion is that we're talking here of 1000Cr / 700SC items only, and not 500Cr / 700SC items (it's quite obvious they're not a good way to spend SC). I'd consider also that what you buy can be available for multiple classes and (I'm not sure) even for other characters (I have one VS and one TR but I've never played them again after I started playing NC/Athenea so that might not be a big issue). I'm tempted by SGMs planetside.wikia.com/wiki/Submachine_Guns#row-2 which are usable on most classes and shotguns (for the same reason) planetside.wikia.com/wiki/Shotguns#row-3. My bad for not having tried those already, but I'd like to know if there's some long time user that can provide advice on them. Or something else. For example, I'm not considering Skyguard because usually I have low FPS, and would make that ineffective. OTOH, how effective are the Walker or the Ranger for vanguards? That would be used by my gunner (rarely by me). Of course if you tell me they're shit (make almost no difference in the battlefield) there's no point in buying them. AV Mana Turret? I do hate them when I'm on the wrong side... NC15 Phoenix? Is it any good? I don't plan of spending much on a game I can't really enjoy fully, but I do think it's a good game so it's more a way to thank SOE than anything else.

I bought the AF-4 and I am very confortable in the short / medium distance firefights. I could not tell for the shotguns. I'm still undecided, on one side they are very useful in confined spaces, on the other Indar is not composed only by biolabs.

hi there,
i spend some money on this game and i only can imagine how many time i would have needed for the stuff i bought. i think there is no must have but for everybodys playstyle some nice options!
i bought some weapons: longshot-sniper, jackhammer, the second pistol, zepher(because i bought dalton first me noob) and the first sgm. iam really happy with all of them, jackhammer could be better but in some situations triple kills. be sure you have certs to upgrade your new weapons when you bought them!
i personally like the camoflage to make you character individual, good lookin basterd. helmets and stuff really cool! thinking about cool wings for liberator but theyre so small and expensive.
at double money weekend it would be best to buy the most cash you can, because its doubled =)
skyguard i dont know but iam happy with aa max, perhaps if you have fps-problems the aa-rocket launcher of heavy assault would be a choice of AA for you. walker, ranger i dont have. av mana no idea. phoenix no idea.
server still down?

Well, my classes of choice are Eng and HA. (Rationale: Inf are very specialized class, even if it might change with a SMG. LA is speed based, at low FPS does no good. Med I don't like much, but it may change in the future. So when I drive, or wanna play support, I'm Eng. For actually engaging the enemy, I'm HA). So let's say I'm Eng, and we're base-capping or defening. Either way, I'm guarding a generator. Mines are my friend here, expecially if I place then slightly away from the door (the idea is the enemy checks the doorway for them, enters, sees me then while dodging my fire jumps on a mine). Mines aside, what would be best here? My instinct tells me the Piston would be a nice option. Generator rooms are usually pretty small, so it's very CQC. The fact that the Piston would be available to Med, LA and HA as well is just a plus, considering that Med and LA still use the starting weapon. I have GD-22S for my HA, with laser sight and 1x reflex for CQC, I think the shotty would still be better for very CQC but the gain margin in smaller here. I think the 1st reason to consider a SGM is that it turns the Inf into a CQC-fighting option. Not sure if I'd play that style (does it even fit into teamplaying?), but for sure I'd be much more confortable entering an enemy base to hack terminals with a SMG than with my Bolt Driver + Mag Shot combo. I've read that the GR-22 is a fine weapon, but it's for medic only. I wonder how it compares to the Cyclone. I mean, GR-22 + adv laser sight + soft point ammo vs. Cyclone + adv. laser sight + soft point ammo + ext mag. Unless there's a huge advantage for the GR-22, the Cyclone is the best option just because it's for other classes as well. Oops, servers are up again, enough talking...

I spent my SC on a Blitz SMG and it's phenomenal. Because I used SC I could throw certs straight into attachments and with the laser dot for hip fire and the soft point ammunition (100 certs each) it blows enemy infantry out of the water at close range. I haven't even bothered with a set of sights for it because it's for CQC.
As an added bonus it applies across classes - LA, Eng and Medic for definite, possibly Infiltrator as well.
