Hey fellas,
we have been growing rapidly lately and in order to be an effective outfit, we need to setup some rules of behavior and communication. What is absolutely normal for some guys turns out to be a big challenge for other people.
So I decided to think about some basic rules we should all stick to. I also want to propose marking this thread as a sticky, so especially the new guys will get to know how ATFI works soon.
Please feel free to comment my ideas and / or post your own thoughts. I am sure there are enough things I did not think about yet.
Behavior
For a platoon or outfit, it is absolutely CRUCIAL that people know how to act when fighting in such big organisations. The following list is to give you an idea what that means:
Communication
Communication is essential for big organizations such as platoons or outfits. However, if too many people speak at once, information will be lost or ignored, which may cost valuable victories and cause pricey losses.
With regards to prevent such crap to happen, please stick to the rules below.
These get even more important if our platoon is pretty full.
That's it for now.

Behavior
For a platoon or outfit, it is absolutely CRUCIAL that people know how to act when fighting in such big organisations. The following list is to give you an idea what that means:
- EVERYBODY is to always head for / be at the platoon waypoint. If the platoon leader (and only the platoon leader) decides that one or several squads should attack / defend another area than the rest of the platoon, the squad leader will set up a green squad waypoint.
All people in the squad will go there immediately or spawn there if dead. - People who act on their own and ignore the orders given by platoon / squad leader will be kicked from the platoon (no matter if ATFI member or stranger). To keep it fair, several announcements should be made before kicking anybody
- We all know that it is sometimes impossible to NOT kill a team member. Especially in the heat of the fight or when using grenades, collateral damage is dealt.
If possible, please apologize for killing a team mate. - Deliberate teamkilling is intolerable and to be reported to one of the officers immediately.
The teamkiller will get a chance to tell why he killed a mate or even an outfit member even though he knew who he was. After that, the officer(s) decide(s) whether to just warn the traitor or kick him from the outfit.
Needless to say, being found guilty of killing outfit members is way worse than killing random NC players. I propose the setup of a blacklist in order to make sure not to make the same mistakes over and over. - If your platoon or squad leader commands you to spawn a special vehicle or class, you will do as he says without disputing or whining about it
Communication
Communication is essential for big organizations such as platoons or outfits. However, if too many people speak at once, information will be lost or ignored, which may cost valuable victories and cause pricey losses.
With regards to prevent such crap to happen, please stick to the rules below.
These get even more important if our platoon is pretty full.
- Spam (chearing about a hit on a tank, screaming for medics or ammo, playing recorded sounds etc.) is to be kept low. Spamming causes nothing but anger among your collegues and leaders and may enforce them to kick you from the platoon
- Do not use the platoon chat for everything. The platoon chat is reserved for the coordination of the squads and sharing important information.
- Try to talk locally from time to time. Especially for requests concerning healing, ammo, repairs the local chat is absolutely satisfiing. Also, the chat makros help a lot here.
Nobody on the other side of the area wants to know about your health status or the damage dealt to your vehicle. - If the platoon splits up and you want to make local announcements, please use your squad chat. Information about local enemy activity ist not relevant for all of us when we fight at different waypoints and might even cause disturbance or confusion amongst our beloved allies.
Exception: An area is being completely overrun or completely undefended. Depending on what is up, it might be interesting for the rest of the platoon to go or not to go to your position. - Whenever spotting enemy activity and / or vehicles say where from the enemy is coming and where you are. This will help the others to reinforce you effectively and also avoid them to run into enemies unprepared.
That's it for now.
